Entering Rift! First Impressions

And there I was... An Ascended! A godly figure walking among mere humans! The first impressions in Rift blew me away. When I was prompted to choose between the two rivaling factions, during the character creation process, I had the choice between the Guardians and the Defiants. In my opinion, the Guardians logo looked awesome. It is an armored fist holding chains!

I now faced another choice. The game wanted me to choose a calling. There were 4 options. Warrior, Mage, Cleric and Rogue. I wanted my character to fit my playstyle, so I went merrily with the mighty Warrior Archetype! I carried on to fgure out how my warrior was supposed to look. I gave him a firm chin, brown baby eyes and long chest nut colored hair. I now only needed a name before my adventures within the world of Telara could begin! I needed something awesome. I tried naming him Godly, but that was apparently taken. I scoured the internet for a name worthy of my mighty warrior. Then it struck me. Deus.

I named my warrior Deus. Deus is the Latin word for God! I could not think of any more manly name than that.

The intro zone in the game was quite nice, but a little hectic. Deus was basically ressurrected by some messenger sent by god, The Vigil, and is now an Ascended. The Ascended were brought back by The Vigil, because only they can save the world, Telara, from an evil demon called Regulos. The first quests were basic "Kill X of Y Creatures", as expected, but the reward for doing them was awesome. Instead of a single "Talent Tree", I was given 3 different tree's. I went with Champion, a 2-handed powerhouse. Paragon, a fierce dual wielding fighter and Riftblade a magical warrior, who tames the power of the Rifts.

In my next post, I will go through my experience as a Warrior. I will tell you about the next Zone, Proffesions, Guilds and some of the PvP. Thank you.
